just had to post one more thing after checking analytics one last time. apparently, twice near the end of december 07, someone typed "santa poop games" into a search engine, and it gave them my site.
awesome.
its almost as awesome as if i actually had anything on the site (besides this post of course) that says "santa poop games".

football season is over
to borrow the title of hunter s thompson's suicide note.
"football season is over"
work removed my internet access so i won't be blogging here anymore. it was fun while it lasted, but why would i want to waste time on a blog outside of ruining my work productivity? i suspected when i posted here last that my access was about to be yanked. i suspected right. oh wells!
being able to post this last post from a hospital network computer, is one last fuck you to our IS department. fuck you guys.
thanks to the faithful readers, all 3 of you!

gone fishin
no posting this week, and perhaps thru next week.
but i just had to let you know that i hate big and rich. i hope they (and cowboy troy and whoever the fuck else that wants to associate with them) catch the typhus and waste away.
yeah.
if you get bored before i start posting again, you should take up drawing. then go to www.drawingboard.com and read stuff there. that should keep you busy.

america the predictable
coming back from lunch, a link on cnn caught my perverted, voyeuristic eye:
amy fisher, husband promote sex tape.
and just as i was thinking "dirty old america, this is gonna knock britney out of #1 story contention real soon", i scrolled over to the top stories links, to see that yes. right now the top story on cnn.com IS the long island lolita, all growed up, hawking a homemade porn.
its not like theres anything more important going on in the world, right?

this is not a cheese shop
i know i get a little gamey from time to time, and i'd like to think that having so many hippie friends has instilled in me a low bar for what is acceptable body odor. and i guess im really lucky that this doesn't happen every day im @ work, being as i work in an area where old people exercise.
but i just had to report for the record, that someone in here smells, A LOT, like feet. bad musty feet.
bravo lady!

just like i said
i knew i'd have to post again today. i about forgot to mention that the first presidential primaries for 08 happened yesterday, and we have results today, and i could not care less. this comes from someone who was FULL ON ADDICTED to politics news and political thought in highschool. i did policy debate and extemporaneous speaking for our forensics team and was SO GLUED to cnn and whatever the fuck, and for years after i just watched all this out of habit. i am SO SICK of ALL these fuckers. look at all your candidates on both sides. what a slimey bunch of motherfuckers. and this is all about picking which 2 slimey motherfuckers i get to pick from? im so sick of that choice. THERE IS NO REASON FOR ME TO EVEN PRETEND TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS ELECTION PROCESS. don't let anyone try and tell you otherwise. your vote doesn't even count, for fuck's sake.
whether or not jay leno is violating the rules of the writer's strike is a much much much more interesting news story to me. that guy rubs me wrong.
and guess what's the number one story on cnn.com right now? well, not leno, he's #6. and its not the primary, that's #2. the number one story on cnn, the one people want to know about is: britney spears taken to hospital.
fuck me.

it was the week that wasn't
no blogging this week as you've realized by now. too much year-end/beginning housekeeping/bookkeeping/other shit going on, also some medical concerns to attend to, but its all good. back in the saddle next week i think. until then, some random notes.
-the comics reporter was down over most of the holidays, and its a testament to how cool that site is, that it being down actually really fucked with me. i kept checking in on it and then finally yesterday it was back up, and ive already been back there like 5 times to catch up on the holiday interviews. 2008 is the year i will finally make a comic--thats my resolution.
-i don't know if its a walmart thing or what but i saw some double-dvd packages there last night, including billy madison/happy gilmore (a no-brainer) and fast times at ridgemont high/dazed and confused (a little less obvious but ok). porsche said dazed and confused should be bundled with detroit rock city, and i almost punched her in her non-existant junk for saying that.
-also at walmart, we picked up sideways. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN SIDEWAYS YET, AND THINK ABOUT PICKING IT UP FROM THE FIVE DOLLAR BIN? DONT. not worth five dollars. what gives? this movie got so much praise when it came out. it won tons of awards, here's a list stolen from wikipedia:
Academy Awards:
Best Adapted Screenplay (Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor)
BAFTA Awards:
Adapted Screenplay (Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor)
Golden Globe Awards:
Best Motion Picture-Musical or Comedy
Best Screenplay
Nomination - Best Musical Score
Gotham Awards:
Best Picture
National Board of Review of Motion Pictures:
Top Ten Film of 2004
Best Supporting Actor
Best Adapted Screenplay
IFP Independent Spirit Awards:
Best Male Lead
Best Supporting Male
Best Supporting Female
Best Screenplay
Best Director
Best Feature (won in all categories it was nominated for).
New York Film Critics Circle Awards:
Best Film
Screen Actors Guild Award:
Best Ensemble (Paul Giamatti, Sandra Oh, Thomas Haden Church, and Virginia Madsen).
It was nominated for the following awards:
Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Original Score, and Best Director, Golden Globe Awards
Academy Awards for Best Picture, Church as Best Supporting Actor, Madsen as Best Supporting Actress
for gods sake, it has giamatti and haden church AND THE BACKDROP TO THE STORY IS WINE-TASTING @ CALIFORNIA VINEYARDS. i should love this movie. i was thoroughly underwhelmed. i can't for the life of me understand why so many people loved this movie. it was only marginally better looking than a dollar store movie, and about as funny. i'd probably actually laugh harder at the dollar store movie, at least they don't half-ass how horrible they are.
-its friday so don't rule out a late breaking blog entry this afternoon, as i struggle to keep from getting anything done at work. god bless the usa!
